World Premiere of Unsung: Tales from the Front Line

Unsung: Tales from the Front Line opened this weekend! This immersive “verbatim theatre” experience invites audiences to witness the living portraits of seven healthcare workers - including an ER doctor, an ICU nurse, an ICU doctor, a hospital manager, a paramedic, a senior’s health aide, and a recreational aide - as actors perform monologues drawn from their real interviews about working during the pandemic.

I portray a health aide in a senior’s complex, and have learned so much from partaking in this live documentary-style approach to storytelling. Not only have I gained so much respect for those who continue to risk their safety to care for others, the conversations with audience members who see themselves reflected in these portrayals have been extremely moving.

This is what audiences have had to say so far:

“Brilliant production doing important work. I wish every single person could / would see it - go if you can."

"A masterful, thought-provoking experience."

“When a piece of theatre keeps working on you, turning over rocks in your mind...you know it's something special. I feel we really need to explore our collective grief as a result of the pandemic.”

Unsung runs until February 12. Check out Workshop West’s official website for tickets and more information!
